Kent Hanway is President of CSHQA a full-service architecture and engineering firm based in Boise, Idaho with 100 employees in two regional offices including Sacramento and Denver. The firm offers broad experience in many diverse project types with special expertise in retail, commercial, education, healthcare, aviation and government projects.
Kent joined CSHQA upon graduating from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1985. His primary architectural focus during his design career was providing services to national retailers and developers of commercial centers. He is NCARB certified and registered to practice architecture in 28 states and two Canadian provinces. He is a member of American Institute of Architects (AIA), Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Kent is a graduate of the Leadership Boise program and was acknowledged in the Idaho Business Review’s ’40 Accomplished Under 40’ program. He has served as a member of the Boise Metro Chamber Council, including leadership positions on the Executive Board, is currently a member of Idaho Power’s Energy Efficiency Advisory Group and past Chair for ULI Idaho District. Under Kent’s presidency CSHQA relocated to new offices in a 60-year- old urban warehouse, completely renovated by the firm. The building and its systems are a living laboratory for architects and engineers to test and experience advanced systems. The project is receiving recognition and awards for sustainability and is LEED Certified Platinum.
