Safeguarding Idaho’s Economy in a Changing Climate is a two-day conversation about Idaho’s changing
Safeguarding Idaho’s Economy in a Changing Climate will bring together Idaho business and community leaders to share practical and innovative ways to meet the challenges of our changing climate. Bigger wildfires and smaller snow pack affects the crops we grow, the timber we harvest, the air we breathe and the water we need for drinking, irrigation, manufacturing, and recreation. Working together, we can reduce risks and increase opportunities, with the private sector leading and catalyzing the conversation.
November 16 & 17, 2017
Morning keynote and panel discussions will be live in Boise at the Boise State University Student Union Building and live-streamed available on this website and at:
Afternoon design thinking facilitated workshops will be live and held at all three locations. Workshop results will be shared in a post-summit action report to be distributed on this website in early 2018.
Any business, school or organization may live stream and participate in this event. To do so, register a facilitator for your group under the tab Facilitate.
Design Thinking is a well-proven method of problem solving that uses creativity in identifying insights and possible solutions and rationality in analyzing and planning various solutions. For the workshops, we are pulling exercises from the Human Centered Design (HCD) Toolkit, which integrates deep social listening into an additive idea building design process, which includes rapid prototyping, community feedback and iteration. This process results in highly successful solutions, which may include messaging, tools, campaigns and products. To learn more about the HCD toolkit or to download it, click here.
